Dmitry Sergeyevich Makarov was born on 23.04.1984 in Nizhny Novgorod.

Graduated from the Radiophysical department of the Nizhny Novgorod State University in 2007 with master's degree in radiophysics.

Started working at the Microwave Spectroscopy laboratory in 2004 as a laboratory assistant. Took PhD course from 2007 to 2010. Received Ph.D. degree in physics in 2011. The theme of the PhD thesis is "Millimeter-wave spectrum of molecular oxygen: measurements and the absorption profile modeling in a broad temperature range".

Major interests: quantum radiophysics, molecular spectroscopy, line and band profile shape analysis, millimeter- and submillimeter-wave technique.
